Morningside Hope events in May

Music and Memories: workshops for those with dementia and their partners/carers. This group meets in the Cluny Hall, 2 – 4pm. The next workshop will be on Monday 2nd May.

Gentle Exercise class to music for those with dementia and their partners/carers meets in the Cluny Hall, 2 – 4pm, with the actual exercise class lasting some 40 – 45mins. The next workshop will be on Monday 9th May.

Dementia Friendly Concerts: The next dementia friendly concert, Music for Brass Quintet, will be held on Saturday 28th May at 2pm in the sanctuary. Open to EVERYONE, this will be a 45-minute concert followed by teas and coffees. Entry is free but donations are welcome. All proceeds will go to Morningside Hope. Music for Brass Quintet: A bit like a (very) miniature brass band, our brass quintet consists of two trumpets, two trombones and a horn. Our instruments are shiny, we smile a lot and the music we play can brighten the darkest of days. We will present a short programme of varied music – some of it familiar, some less so – but all of it guaranteed to gladden the heart. Morningside Parish Church, with its warm and comfortable surroundings, has an ideal acoustic for performing brass music, and the players, all of whom are well known Edinburgh musicians, are greatly looking forward to their visit on the 28th of May.
