The Scout Section is for young people, usually aged between 10½ and 14 years. A young person can come into the Troop at 10 and may stay until they are 14½ years old. The Scout Troop is the third section in the Scout Group, above Beavers and Cubs. We currently have 30 Scouts split into 4 patrols: the Peewits, the Eagles, the Hawks, and the Falcons.
Throughout the year a varied programme is run with the normal weekly meetings in the hall being run alongside outdoor events, weekend camps and District (Braid) and Regional (South East Scotland) Events. As a troop we aim to have an outdoor event every 4 weeks.
In the 2014/2015 session we took part in 13 camps (indoor and outdoor) including a 7 day long summer camp just outside Spean Bridge. Activities over the year included: Skiing, Mountain Biking, High Ropes, White Water Rafting, Archery, Shooting, Sailing, Expeditions, Para Drop, Grass Sledging, Kayaking, Swimming, Caving, Shelter Building and Pioneering.
The 103rd Braid Scouts normally meet at Morningside Parish Church every Friday during school term time from 7.30pm to 9.30pm.
The 25th Braid Scouts normally meet at Morningside Parish Church every Thursday from 7.30 to 9pm.
