The Big Questions, Monday 1st October, 7.30pm, Hermitage Bar

A new joint venture between Morningside, Greenbank and Fairmilehead Parish Churches will be launched on Monday 1st October, 7.30pm at the Hermitage Bar. Invite your non-church friends along to an evening of discussion on some of the big issues facing our world today.

We’re looking to use this as an opportunity to reach out in a welcoming way to people who want to engage in big question discussions but might not be sure about coming to Church – yet!

If people would like a meal before the discussion begins at 7.30pm, they can go to the excellent Hermitage Bar before we get started in discussion around tables.

The Big Questions…

Quotes to start us thinking:

“I think the first duty of society is justice.”   ~ Alexander Hamilton

“I have cherished the ideal of a democratic and free society in which all persons live together in harmony and with equal opportunities. It is an ideal which I hope to live for and to achieve. But if needs be, it is an ideal for which I am prepared to die.”~ Nelson Mandela

“We think sometimes that poverty is only being hungry, naked and homeless. The poverty of being unwanted, unloved and uncared for is the greatest poverty. We must start in our own homes to remedy this kind of poverty.” ~ Mother Teresa
