Friends of Morningside – Bible Lands of Morningside Talk and Afternoon Tea, Sunday 23 October, 2-4pm, Church Halls

AN INVITATION FROM THE FRIENDS OF MORNINGSIDE

The Friends sponsor a lot of good work around the Church, and have done for a number of years. They are always looking to welcome new members into the Friends of Morningside and to share in the good work that they do. If you think you might be interested in joining their number, you might want to come to an event they are hosting.

On Sunday 23rd October, from 2-4pm in the new church hall. Dr Ted Duvall, from the Morningside Heritage Association, will give a forty minute illustrated talk on ‘The Bible Lands of Morningside’ – an opportunity for us to learn a little more about Canaan Lane, Nile Grove, Egypt Mews and the other prominent Biblical names embedded in the local streets of Morningside. No need to walk around: we can hear the whole story in the comfort of our hall!

After the talk, and during the time of the afternoon tea, the Church will also be open and the Minister will be at hand to talk about some of the finer features of our stained glass windows, and the other furniture of the Church. So often we sit in Church and see it without looking closely at it.

If you are planning to come, it would help with catering if you would let Isobel Paterson know. Please telephone confirmation to her on 0131 447 7315, or email her at issiepaterson@hotmail.com.
